Johns Hopkins Class of 2020 RD Forum

Hey everyone! I didn’t see a 2020 discussion made yet, so finally decided to do it! Good luck to all of us in the RD round

Biomedical engineering RD applicant over here

you know what stands out to me most from reading all the essays that worked is that some essays never even mention jhu… they just talk about themselves. But they’re outstanding essays! I just think that any other college would say that it doesn’t really show that you want to go there…? Just worried here haha.

applied math and stat with second choice computer science RD applicant

@kcarpenterfan I was wondering the same thing! Do you think those essays are common app essays, or “Why JHU” essays?

i’m a writing seminars or undecided/humanities major applicant, btw!

FL applicant here.
RD application submitted 12/28.
Good luck!

Wow this thread is dead

When do we get RD results?

According to JHU’s website, we should be getting the results by April 1st.

Can a moderator pin this thread so more RD applicants can see it?

Applying for Medicine, Sciences, and Humanities major!
kind of freaking out bc I forgot to send SAT II scores until today but yeaaahhh… even if they don’t get it in time, I hope it’ll be okay >.<

Just submitted my application! And the wait begins…

@chubii it’ll be fine! as long as you submitted the app by the deadline, they will wait to receive all your materials

@shadyconcepts thanks! Just about finished with mine too…

ummmm were we like really really supposed to do the personal statement?!?!?!

yes this thread is dead though … i applied molecular bio!

@Cestlavie1919 do you mean the supplement specific to jhu?

@Cestlavie1919 Yes, the JHU supplement is mandatory. You still have time though, the deadline is tonight at 11:59 PM. Good luck!

no like i did the common app essay and the why hopkins one or whatever, but on the common app there is a place for a personal statement if there si something that is not on your application or something… that wasn’t mandatory was it? @shadyconcepts
