Does anyone know if JHU sends out likely letters or would they contact the high school about likely admits? My DD got in ED but she has a friend who applied RD. The story I heard was that the friend’s GC called her down about a month ago and said they had a vague notification (I don’t know mail or email) about one of the GC’s students being accepted to JHU. No name was given and, apparently, my DD’s friend was the only student for this GC who applied RD to JHU.
@EpicMom525 My high school consistently gets 4-6 students into JHU every year and I have never heard of something like that happening. I also know that JHU does send out likely letters but they are not nearly as common as likely letters from other comparable schools.
Who else is applying to Neuroscience here? I know JHU is renowned for its neuroscience program so I was wondering if I made my life more difficult by applying to it.

Hopkins doesn’t admit by major (the notable exception being BME). So indicating your expected major as neuroscience doesn’t effect your odds of admission. Technically even indicating BME as your first choice major doesn’t effect your admission chances for the school itself, just for the BME program. So it is possible that a prospective BME will be rejected by the BME department, but accepted by Hopkins. Usually these students declare as ChemBE, CS, MoleCell Bio, etc depending on which branch of BME interested them in the first place.
