Our S in similar position. Top stats and resume, but also waitlisted. Good luck to your D.

Did she submit test scores? It seems that everyone who has posted admits here and on Reddit have had scores.

Ouch!

Can’t speak for RD, but I know ED students that have gotten in without test scores

That “SAT- Subject Biology: 800, SAT- Subject Chemistry: 800” are some impressive numbers. She can get in top schools with those.

DC waitlisted. What would be JHU’s waitlist acceptance rate historically? Does anyone have an idea?
Due to the large number of undergrad applicants received for this year by almost every university, will there be more chances for candidates on the JHU waitlist to get accepted?

It (sadly) makes sense, with the amount of students who committed to Hopkins last year, but deferred to join the class of 2025

I have multiple close friends here who were admitted from the waitlist last year

Got rejected. I feel so depressed. I’m now rejected from MIT and JHU (both for bio). JHU was my dream school. I extensively worked for years making an application that was good for JHU, and this is the one day in month I’ve had a break from activities, jobs, classes, etc to celebrate an acceptance. Yet, I didn’t even get waitlisted. I’m still waiting on 15 decisions, but this is seeming really downhill. I have no clue what to think right now.

know that this is not a reflection on you and everything you’ve done for the past four years. It is impossible for hopkins and other elite schools to admit everyone who is extremely qualified. At some point it really is a lottery, and I promise you will look back on this in a few months and realize it wasn’t meant to be.

I was wondering the same thing. My D was accepted but is wondering if she got into the Writing Seminars major to which she applied. It doesn’t say anything about that in her acceptance letter or anywhere on her portal. So the rumor is that, other than for BME, if accepted, it’s for your the major you chose? Or is that different for Writing Seminars?

got rejected. Is hopkins pure grade based?
