OFFICIAL Johns Hopkins University Class of 2014 RD Applicants

I don't think this thread exists yet, so here we go. I'll get things started:

I'm from India, lived in Singapore practically my whole life. I have academic interests in economics, political science, creative writing, sociology, math, history and international studies.

I recognize you from the Chicago side of things. But i am applying to JHU as well. I am hoping to study International Relations or Chemistry.

Public Health Studies. From Mass. I hope to be able to swim in college.

Hey Collins22, I remember you too. Anyway, if we both do end up at JHU, I’ll be studying international relations too. It’s a really awesome department.

Ha I’m planning to either study biology or public health studies (natural sciences).

I know one person from my school already got into JHU BME :O

I’ll be applying for BME and biophysics.
Baltimore, MD… high school is next to JHU.
Probably 50 others from my school will also apply. They are mostly URM and highly qualified besides that. Good luck! :P

i’m going into pre-med so i’ll be studying biology.
Good luck to all!

Oh man, I hope that those of us who’re not doing pre-med or BME will not constantly live in the shadow of those who are.

Hey! I know some of you from the Chicago forum lol. I’m interested in neuroscience and linguistics.

Does anyone know when we get contacted for interviews?

I thought for JHU you had to request interviews on the website.

I remember I did, but they didn’t have any alumni in China.

I just got an email saying that they’re currently doing match-ups for alumni interview. You’ll probably hear soon.

I’m hoping to double-major in Romance languages and physics. from Australia.

They should have some alumni since JHU has a center in Nanjing, China.

Just got the e-mail. Thanks for the heads up srrinath!

And thanks for the help Professor101. Hope that there will be a trained alumni interviewer then. Hopefully they won’t have me fly over to Nanjing!

Should we put Pre-Med or Biology for Academic Interests?

^It really doesn’t matter too much. It’s up to you.

My name is Shari, hopefully I’ll be studying Public Health (Natural Science) and Women, Gender, and Sexuality with a minor in History of Science, Medicine, and Technology.

I wasn’t actually “contacted” for an interview, I signed up for one myself though (they’re optional, not required), the same week as the Open House for Natural Science and Engineering; it was a fantastic weekend for me! They say their interviews are more informative than evaluative, but my interviewer was taking notes on my responses to her questions and she was asking me many questions about myself and “Why JHU” sort of things.

Just to clear up any confusion about interviews.

We do not contact applicants to schedule an interview – applicants must request an interview. Interviews are informational and not required.
