Johns Hopkins vs Wesleyan vs Tufts

I've basically narrowed my decision to JHU, Wesleyan or Tufts, but now what?
I'm not sure what i want to major in, maybe neuroscience. Ok, i know people say i should go to JHU if i want to do anything related to the sciences but, i've heard they dont have the best campus and im leaning towards wesleyan cause they are a small liberal arts school which i wanted, and tufts is full of bitter rejected people, so...?
please give me some suggestions!

I'd say it depends on how dedicated you are to your studies/field. If you are totally comitted, JHU is the obvious choice. If you are conflicted, it is probably true that Wesleyan will be more academically liberal in both its community and curriculum.

No one need fear studying science at Wesleyan (or any LAC for that matter.) There are so many humanities and social science majors at Wesleyan that a dedicated neuroscience major will find a lopsided student:faculty ratio very much in their favor. Moreover, the number of long-term, NSF funded research projects rivals some universities many times Wesleyan's size. I know it sounds like a cliche, but, in Wesleyan's case, it bears some resemblance to the truth; that science majors truly have the best of both worlds: the faculty and facilities of a research university and the ambience of a liberal arts college.

Johns Hopkins.. the campus is very nice. the name, the prestige, the opportunities. it's a no brainer (ah ha ha, especially for neuroscience )

Good Luck :)

I'd recommend Johns Hopkins, regardless of what you want to study- b/c JHU is an academic powerhouse. Tufts is only really known for IR and Johns Hopkins, coincidentally, is one of the leading universities for International Studies. International Studies is the most populated major at JHU (has recently surpassed MBE as the most populated major at JHU) and is interdisciplinary combining courses from several departments- History, Political Science, Economics and language. Johns Hopkins has outstanding programs in History, Political Theory, German, and Romance Languages so it's no surprise that IR is so popular there. Wesleyan is in the middle of CT with nothing to do. Hopkins has Baltimore and DC nearby.

All I can say, is if you like Baltimore, you'll be ecstatic about Hartford which is only a half hour away from Wesleyan. JHU is a notoriously cold campus which many people flee on the weekends, while Wesleyan has one of the most vibrant social scenes of any college in the country; people often can't wait to get back to school after Spring breaks, they miss their friends so much. I don't think it's quite like that at JHU.

D.C. is 30-40 minutes away from Baltimore so that is really nice. From what i've seen, people don't "flee" on the weekends at JHU.. that's usually when the big parties and lacrosse games are. Look, either way, you are picking from 3 good schools!

Good luck ;)
