Joint Degree Programs: Life Science & Management or Nursing & Health Care Management

So, yeah......

I'll be applying next year and I have no idea which one to choose.

I am very interested in both business and health care and these programs fulfill my needs. I'm interested in doing pre-med and eventually a MD and/or MBA.

I know we have a couple of LSM students here. I highly doubt there are students in Nursing and Health Care Management program (it is a very new program).

Does anyone know more about these programs? Which one is better if you're doing pre-med? Which one is more competitive?

Thanks.

The Nursing and Healthcare Management program is older but it's smaller. LSM is a joint degree program; Nursing and Healthcare Management is a dual degree.

The LSM program is one degree in the College or in Wharton and a minor-esque group of courses in the other; the Nursing/Hcmgmt includes actual two degrees in Wharton and Nursing.

If you are truly interested in the medical world, especially in a managerial setting, I would argue that the latter program is better for you. Although a nursing degree is not a premed degree/track, the program as a whole is more oriented toward healthcare, whereas the other program is oriented toward the intersection of business and life sciences. I know the nursing program here is really great in terms of its rigor and exposure to the hospital setting. On the other hand, I'd argue that it might be easier to fulfill the pre-med requirements through LSM because the degree is a bit more flexible.
