Jump off points--what exactly is that?

sorry to sound like an idiot^

Princeton supplement essays provided many jump off points(e.g Princeton in nation's service and in service of all nations)

What exactly do they mean by jump off points--should I include a discussion about those quotes before I proceed on, or I need to tell stories related to the quotes??

I am sort of confused..

thanks for any advice!

You are supposed to write a personal experience which revolves around the ‘jumping off point’.

Which one are you doing??

I chose the Unanswered Questions ones…essay on the Princeton’s motto was way to intimidating for me!! (I know it sounds crazy!! )

How can you tell some personal story while still revolve around a quote and being not an argumentative essay><…

(I mean, does that mean my story should have a moral that well adapts to the moral of the quote?..)

its like when you hear something (like a quote or a line from a book or something) and this makes you think of something that you want to tell them… if you have your essay topic in mind, but do not know how to wrap it around one of the given, just think of your own ^^ i did that. you can basically use anything that comes to your mind…

oh sry to post another one, but it deffo does not make you look like an idiot to ask… thats what this forum is here for ^^
good luck with the app

im not even mentioning the quote in my essay…just talking about a personal experience. btw, im writing my essay on the unanswered question prompt.
hm, now im a little scared. i hope im doing it right–and good luck to you guys!
