oh for the biography one the missing qn is what does the person mean for the quote
is the anwser ‘life is not the right material for good fiction?’ (i paraphrased it)

How about the sentence completion question about pivotal/topical? It was something like:
His argument was so … that even the most vehement critics couldn’t argue against him.

Yep His remarks are so… this word should resemble “true” as his remarks are so true that his critics can’t find anything to use against him. I picked topical as I eliminated all other choices- innocuous wouldn’t fit as we can’t say because the candidate doesn’t intend to attack anyone then his critics won’t go against him- they may very well find something wrong about his remarks (regardless of his good intention) and go against him. pivotal would
't fit because his remarks can’t be pivotal or crucial.

^Innocuous.
I remember one about “tutelage” or something.

Yeah there’s one like: His … is like university education, … from the guitar players who succeeded after playing with them. The answer is tutelage…evidenced

top·i·cal
adj.
- Of or belonging to a particular location or place; local.
- Currently of interest; contemporary.

–> I don’t see how it fits in the sentence…

this should be innocuous
coz it can also mean harmless (as in will not arouse offenses)
I am quite sure about this

oh yeah I chose pivotal… now I remember…
but I still can’t recall the malaise question

for the prosaic I think it wasn’t one of the SC but was under one of the passage questions
we should take that prosaic off from the list

Haiz yeah may be i’m wrong, i’m not sure about topical… Anyway, what’s about the question concerning the author’s attitude towards future generations in the encyclopedia passage? I remember I picked an answer like: future generations tend to forget about (or ignore?) … (something like past informations)

-I took out prosaic from the SC and put it in … “what did the author think of those stuff she enumerated that the other kids thought were weird/different –> prosaic”. Correct?

kipling, why would it be pivotal?

zdragon, I’m quite sure that the passage quoted something by someone about future generations being disdainful about whatever errors the past generations put in the encyclopedia, but that the future generations would end up putting their own “nonsense” in there too. So that would make the answer something along the lines of “exaggerated self-regard”. The future will not “forget” or “ignore”; just scorn upon them.

Ah about the recognition: it belongs to the squid passage- the recognition or accomplishment of finding the squid… something like makes the sea lose its mystery

erm about the difference in passages in biography
is it one is about a subset of biography, and the other is biography in general?

you guys remember the question about the main point of the passage about the old encyclopedia? I picked: The author talks about his pastime to make some observations. What do you guys think?

okay darn I can’t edit the post anymore. Just keep posting and I’ll edit in a while so I won’t have to keep on copying and pasting the same huge chunk of text :)

f1kecy … - yeah, that’s the answer. Whoops I’ll edit it later.

zdragon - that’s my answer too

whoosh I am damn nervous, coz i remember a similar choice about subjects of biography
for the motorcyle, there is a missing qn
the author enjoys motorcycle in the countryside due to ‘congeniality’
and the difficult undertaking is under Chinese origin

hope i am correct…

@f1kecy778591: it’s not “subset” it’s subjects- I picked that one too. What’s about the question concerning the author’s attitude towards the literary stuff in the passage about the old encyclopedia? I picked excessively narrowed and biased like you, kaitlin but i’m not sure about that since the answer choice seems quite extreme (excessively you see)

“the author enjoys motorcycle in the countryside due to ‘congeniality’” –> what are the other choices?

“and the difficult undertaking is under Chinese origin” –> what’s the question for that one?

WAIT what?? there was one choice with “subset” and another choice with “subject”? I’m confused…

for the narrow and biased, I didn’t find any other answer choice that would suffice so I chose that … do you remember the other choiceS?

others i only remember natural beauty
the first qn for that passage, the writer____ (celebrate a cause/propose a solution)

Ah you guys remember the third short passage? the first is about biographies, the second is about a kid joining a group, what is the last one??? Some how I can’t remember it.

@zdragon123, there is a choice subset, E
that one is subset versus biography in general
