June 2010: US History

good neighbor policy had far less to do with political alliances than the treaty of versaille

@imagecko: the curves aren’t predetermined (i don’t think) - i think it’s more based off of percentiles.

~ although some apush students took it now, the majority took it last month

Oh, well that’s a good thing then :D

Only on CC can people make a test from memory. I’m always amazed at how the consolidated list turns out.

This is totally anecdotal, but save for one person, everyone in my APUSH class who decided to take the SAT II took it in June.

Anyhow, I’m pretty sure it’s predetermined.

Edit: And yeah, it really astounds me how we can put together a list of all the questions. At least for history it’s easier, but still amazing nonetheless. It really alleviated my stress also (I was half asleep taking it and left the test center thinking I bombed), although I’m sure there’s another edge of the sword for others.

can we revisit the oil question again? what would the answer be then?

I said clean air/pollutant legislation for the oil one, but that was an educated guess (because clean air happened during Carter I thought? If not him, Nixon).

Also, I love that for every answer I changed my mind on while going over, I changed it from a right response to a wrong one. ■■■. Still looking at about 9 wrong, no omits though. so here’s hoping.

[The Energy Crisis: 1973](The Energy Crisis: 1973)

Third paragraph: “windfall profits tax”
You’re welcome.

^^ Yay. :)

do you guys remember what the actual question and answer choices were for the oil question? was it an “except” question?

Yes, it was an except question. It was something like, “All of the following resulted from the Oil Embargo of 1973 EXCEPT”…therefore, the correct answer was “Congress passed a comprehensive antipollution law” rather than “a windfall profit tax was issued,” as pdawggy pointed out. The other answers were easy to eliminate, like “The price of oil increased” I think was one of them.

right, thanks InvisibleMonster

would 6 wrong 0 omit be an 800?

^ Yes, it would.

What would 8 wrong 1 omit be? Any chance at an 800? Sparknotes says 790, but I don’t know if their curve is accurate or not.

I think it would still be an 800; the curve on Sparknotes is very strict. Plus, this test was pretty hard.

Thanks pdawggy. However, the author of the website may be referring to the windfall profits tax passed in 1980.

Hopefully there was a tax passed as a result of the 1973 embargo, because I chose anti-pollution :)

Also, the AFL v. KOL question read something like “the AFL is most significantly different from the KOL in that…” The answer choice that people are debating was “it included both skilled and unskilled workers.” Since the choice was referring to the AFL, it’s definitely wrong.

What would 9 wrong, 3 omit be? Like a 780?

^ Most likely.

Can someone describe the picture of the cartoon with the asian man? I’m having trouble remembering it.
