June SAT Biology E/M Pre/Post Test

MMA: I don’t remember what the page number was, but now I remember that the person who said that my answer wasn’t right said that he put mutation. But then the discussion about that question was ended like that, so it’s not really worth reading haha.

last couple of M section actually took me sometime to think…basically logic things…so yeah…not too hard

dammit if only i had the a b c d e

One of the answers was
plants can use both O and (18O) to make carbohydrate.

I think this answer is correct but it requires exp. 2

Yes, that’s what I put.

@hkim0713 I hope our answer was right because I went and changed it back and forth about 3 times. Too bad its not an answer that you can really just google or look up.

If you retake an SAT II, will colleges only see the better score?

I was thinking that, but again, to draw this conclusion we would need experiment 2 so that wouldn’t make any sense

@apmaniac, yeah i think so but I’m not sure. This is actually my second try taking biology haha.

But I heard colleges usually appreciate science scores over 720.

I am so glad to hear that. Thank goodness for 2nd chances.

Oh, by the way, the (18O) from the carbon dioxide in exp. 2 went into the glucose molecule (C6H12(18O)6)

Is the Ecology section traditionally curved harder than the Molecular section? If so, by how much.

MMA: I heard that ecology’s curve is nicer, but I’ve also heard that molecular gives better curves. But in PR and Kaplan’s practice tests, I know that ecology’s curve is nicer.

Ya, in the barron’s practice tests, the ecology curve is much more generous but I would think it would be the opposite because Molecular biology is a bit harder, or at least to me.

I hope ecology will be more generous because I took it hahahahahah

It might be really late but…I was really ****ed because there was no organ systems and barely anything on meiosis or mitosis

There was only ONE question on mitosis, NO questions on taxonomy, and NO questions on human organ systems. I thought taxonomy & organ systems covered the most for biology tests. I was REALLY disappointed.

the mitosis one was metaphase

Yeah, i had the same dilemma with the water/oxygen/glucose thing with O18. I ended up putting the one that needed Experiment 2 just because the other 4 didn’t make as much sense to me

I was kind of mad that there was barely any body function questions because I studied it like crazy, but i think the questions that were given were pretty easy.

mm yeah. wish they had more organismal biology. great to know I wasted 60% of my study time. I was like, i thought i was taking Bio M…??
