So the scores come in like 3 days.
What are you guys expecting?

I'm expecting a 2000 atlest.
M:650
CR:650
W:700

So the scores come in like 3 days.
What are you guys expecting?

I'm expecting a 2000 atlest.
M:650
CR:650
W:700

I am expecting M: 710 CR: 640 W: 650
I also expect to break 2k.

I’m excepting M:710 CR:780 W:780

I’m going crazy waiting so long

I think I did pretty poorly, hopefully I did well! But I find the SAT so much harder than the ACT unlike a lot of kids

M:620
CR:590
W:740

1950 overall

This wait is so annoying!

At least a 2000 (please!)
M: 700
CR:680
W: 620

Ugh. I’m so nervous…I just went insane and ommitted more questions than I probably should have. Maybe I’ll actually study next time. haha. yes, that sounds like a good plan.

So I’m assuming most of you are rising seniors eh?

Coomeon collegeboard be nice!

Hoping to break 700 in CR so I can have at least 700 in everything. Did anyone else think the math was exceptionally easy this time around?

yeah math was easy. Im hoping for >690 because of stupid mistakes

M: 800 if I didn’t make any stupid mistake
W: 700+ if I didn’t make any stupid mistake
CR: I will be happy with a 600. lol

Why is CR so difficult for everyone, including myself, compared to the other sections? Even looking at admissions statistics there tend to be at least 50 point drops between M and W compared to CR.

Because for math and writing, you can memorize equations and rules. You can’t really do that for passages.

This.

Reading comprehension is something you’ve been doing your whole life. Anyone can memorize geometry concepts or grammar rules, but if you haven’t been reading for comprehension your entire life then you’re at a serious disadvantage when it comes to the SAT CR section. The only thing you can memorize is vocabulary which is very tedious and unappealing to students.

Expecting
M=760
Writing=800 (Hopefully 11 essay)
Cr=760+
Overall 2320+ :)

Critical reading was difficult for me to. Getting 700+ on CR is all about practice. My friend reads a TON, and during the time that he reads, I watch anime and play pokemon LOL. I had been shooting in the 500’s when I first took a practice test, after that, I didn’t care to improve but since I read in school, my score boosted to the 600’s. After I started practicing for the SAT A LOT (I’ve taken a bunch of practice tests), I finally got my score up to the 750-800 range. I think that ~33% of the CR section is sentence completion, so vocab memorization really helps. I’m memorizing around 50 new words a day, and now I get most of the sentence completions right.

But yeah, if you want to improve your critical reading score, practice practice practice. Read books, analyze passages, and take as many practice tests as possible.

Also what I find helpful (I hadn’t been doing this before I got my score to where I want it to be) is taking notes on the passage (reading the passage also helps. Don’t do what I did and skim the paragraph for what you need. You’ll miss a lot of key information). What I do is:
Read the italicized blurb at the top, the skim over the questions and underline all of the lines in the passage that are mentioned in the questions (blah, worded weirdly so example: In line 53, ‘compilation’ refers to…’, then go to line 53 and underline compilation.)

After you do that, read over the passage, paying extra attention to the lines mentioned in the questions, and then finish the questions. This method has saved me a bunch of time and now I actually understand the passage before I try answering the questions lol.

Also there are a lot of free, nice, iPhone apps for SAT vocab. I don’t have an iPhone but I use my mom’s. When you’re tired of reading lists of alphabetic, highfalutin words out of your Barron’s book or Sparknotes, just do what I do. I practice with SAT vocab flashcards on my mom’s iPhone. xD

for math, 3 wrong and a -1 on FRQ equals to around what?

Depends on the curve

This is a list of curves from previous years.

I know this is has nothing to do with the topic but does anyone know any really good ACT prep books? Please help!

Hoping for over 700 on the reading section, it was my only focus on this test

So… at what time tomorrow night (technically Thursday AM) can we check the scores? Around 2 or 3 is what one or two other people said.
