June SAT I MATH PROBLEM ..DO YOU REMEMBER

i got square root of 30 for the last problem in one of the long math sections. did anyone else have this problem? it involved using the distance formula.

also does anyone have the answer for #8, the last of the non-grid-ins in the grid-in section.

do you remember
the 21st night of september
love was changing the mind of pretenders
while chasing the clouds away

nope i dont think so

yes, i had it, and yes the answer is square root of 30

good job :)

hey silver hammer, what's that song?

yep!
I had it and also put square root of 30!

yippe!

does anyone remember the exact question?

i didn't have that question o_O

odan it's "september" by earth, wind, & fire

and yeah anybody remember the question?

all i know is it was the very last question on one of the long math sections (i had two long math sections, one was experimental)

the question involved first finding the values of a point, and then using that and some other given point, find the distance between the points with the distance formula

You didn't have to use the distance formula tho... but yeah i put sqrt 30 as well...
was that the -2x+2 one? I found the area of the small triangle (the unshaded region) added that to make a big triangle then solved k using the triangle area formula

Was it the one about the parabola with y=-x^2+5? There was a line connecting the top of the parabola (0,5) to the positive x-intercept (root5,0), and the question asked for its length.

thanks a lot rhs. now i'm pretty sure i put sqrt 30.

it wasn't experimental. i had it but i had a writing exper.

sq rt 30 is correct btw.

I also had writing experimental.

Yeah, I remember that question now. And now I remember getting:

d = sqrt[ (5)^2 + (sqrt(5))^2 ] = sqrt[25 + 5]

So, yeah... sqrt[30] is also what I got.

Hm...I don't think I got that question. :S On my test, the long writing section was the experimental.

did anyone have the question that included a table with no. of consecutive nights spent at a hotel for each family or sth similar. total of 14 nights...blah..blah...n we had to find on which night one of the families was alone in the hotel!

i picked 3rd. anybody?

Hey, yeah, I got that question too! I put 10th originally, but at the final minute I was like "OMG *** THAT CAN'T BE TRUE", and erased my answer. Then the "pencils down" order came and we got a 5-minute break. Then I came back from the toilet and as the next section began, bubbled "A" for the 3rd night. :p

was one of the answers 4/9 to one of the grid-ins? i dunno but my friends say it was 5/9 :(

Yeah, I got 5/9 for that one. It was a probability question, right?

yea...i hope that was the only one i got wrong.
