Junior Schedule Help

I am currently a sophmore who is planning my junior schedule and was hoping for some advice on the workload.
The classes I plan to take are:
APUSH
Honors English
Honors Spanish 4
Honors Precalculus
AP Physics 1
Health (Required Junior Year )
AP Biology

The issue is I am afraid that taking two AP sciences will be too difficult as I have never taken two science classes together before and am taking my first AP (European History) this year. Alternatively, I could take AP Computer Science (widely known as a joke at my school where everyone gets an A in the class and a 1 on the AP test) instead of AP Bio. I am more interested in bio, but I don’t know if it’s too much work. Any advice?

I don’t think it’s wise to take a class where everyone gets a 1 on the AP test (I hope that’s an exaggeration). You might be able to take that risk senior year though, as I doubt any college will rescind their admissions decision based on an AP test that isn’t (probably) worth any credit at their school.

How is Euro going for you? APUSH is pretty comparable. It’s a little (almost imperceptibly) easier than what Euro is supposed to be. A detailed history of one country is a bit easier than a slightly less detailed history of every country on the Continent.

Based on your answer to the above query, it’s up to you if you think you can handle APUSH, which is nearly equivalent to your current history class, as well as not one, but two, AP sciences. I would try to steer you away from doing so, but it obviously is possible to do extremely well in all of your classes next year–just be prepared to devote much more time to your classes.

If any specific extracurricular(s) that you are involved in would end up being affected by your schedule next year, then I’d advise you not to give up or detract from that extracurricular, just for the sake of taking two AP sciences.

Can you take AP Physics senior year? 1 AP science is manageable. 2 is pushing it. I don’t know if your schedule would allow it, but I’d admonish you to look into what your senior year schedule will look like, and go from there.

@mohammadmohd18 thanks for the advice. I’ll definitely try to find another class instead of those two that might be easier than two AP sciences. And yes, out of the 5+ people I’ve spoken to who have taken AP Comp Sci, they have all gotten 1s and only know of people who have gotten 1s. Thanks again for the advice.

I hope by “those two,” you don’t mean the AP sciences. Sure, take one out. Keep one of them, though. It keeps your schedule rigorous.

@mohammadmohd18 Yes I plan to take one of the AP science courses but not the other. Thanks for all your help.

Agree to keeping one science, although we do know some that have done two (those that want to go into medical field mainly). If possible, look ahead and see what senior year would look like. Many colleges like to see Physics so be sure if you don’t take it junior year, that you can senior year. Good luck!

@jcmom716 Thanks! I’ll be sure to take physics at some point (probably next year, but I don’t know yet).
