You’re going to need a 3.9 to get into Cornell, Stanford and MIT. Besides that, I would also try to find some kind of engineering club to lead. I mean Stanford and MIT are next to impossible to transfer into, you realize that sometimes they like a total of 5 transfers the whole year right? Cornell is more realistic but will still be very difficult. For UCB, to be sure you get there, you will at least a 3.8. You can’t get a 3.7 overall because that would mean you had something like a 3.3 this semester, which will destroy your chances at all those schools. You have to aim for a 4.0 if you want Stanford or MIT.

I mean I was just assuming that if I screw up my grades a lot the worst my GPA would fall in two semesters would be that but the goal is to obviously keep it up in the same ball park.

I know Stanford and MIT has almost negligible transfer rates that’s why I am applying to Cornell and UCB. And though the 3.3 extrapolation is not a possibility but it was after two semesters from now.

But I get your point I should keep my GPA up. Thanks a lot anthony.
