I agree with Chocklit Rain-there’s a lot of entitlement in OP’s first post.

kitczh, the point is unless he can demonstrate some special talent or quality, OP does not deserve to get in. The factors and criteria are clearly established, no one is entitled, and conventional wisdom says you must have certain level of academic achievements to have a reasonable chance. Every applicant is unique and has his/her own story to tell, lashing out at others who have done better academically and dehumanizing them is the wrong way to deal with the situation.

The OP did not say he ‘deserved’ to get in, that was another poster later on. He merely said he still had a chance even though his stats weren’t fantastic and that is true.

^^see.

kdi- contradictory statement is contradicting. lol

The word “deserved” is also used by you in your previous post. And that was what I was responding to.

I just don’t understand the OPs point - He or she had lower scores and lower grades than most people - either they didnt try as hard or they arent that smart - in either case they shouldnt be at penn, theres nothing they could have said in the essay that should allow them to get in, if they werent gonna get in before

Basically, the essay should only be used to deicde between candidates that are similar in stats, and admissions people can’t decide between
