Hi,

I'm a junior and have recently been researching colleges for a major in physics or mechanical engineering (still haven't decided yet!) I was just wondering if any of you knew how much of a difference summer programs made. I was very lucky to attend the last summer of NASA SHARP as a sophomore/rising junior and am hoping to attend another program this summer. Do you think this would help to offset my relatively low GPA (~3.8ish)? I'm in a dual enrollment program this year and on-track to finish the calc series (through differential equations), physics series (3 quarters), and chemistry series (4 quarters).

Also, is Stanford really strict about foreign language requirements? I took two years of spanish and did really well both years, but had scheduling conflicts this year and could fit in take Spanish 3. I have a little background in Hebrew too but it's only one course, and not three straight years of the same language. I guess I might be able to fit in another year but it would be pretty hard seeing as I've forgotten a lot already...

Thanks in advance :)
