bad as in I had a panic attack from anxiety, couldn’t focus and guessed 80% of the test
Some consider only the highest score sent, check if that’s true for your college
If you think you did really bad, I think you can request to have your score cancelled. If it’s anything like the SAT, then you have to send a hand written letter to the ACT organization with your signature. I would look through the ACT website for more specific instructions.
Many schools will look at the highest scores. You need to think about how to take either the ACT again or take the SAT without having a panic attack. Address the issue now, before signing up for another test. You might just need some guided relaxation or other calming techniques, or you might need to pursue a solution using medication.
Check the policy of the school you sent the score to. If you feel you need to try to cancel the score, look into that. The biggest thing you should focus on though is how to set yourself up for success.
Also, you could look at backup schools that don’t require standardized testing. You can find them at www.fairtest.org.
You can cancel sending the scores to schools as long as you do it before you recieve your score. So if you just took the test today you should still be able to cancel, don’t wait long but you should have a few days to cancel.
I’m assuming since you took it today it was a part of a school requirement(since today is not a national test day) so I don’t know how you cancel those versus one from a national test day. Try starting with talking to a school counselor.
As others said, you can cancel your score within a certain time frame. In any case, if you did badly, you should do your best to get over it and try to improve for the future. Don’t dwell too much on what has already happened in the past.
Good luck!
okay so this thread is old but I just received my ACT score 50 minutes ago
It’s an 18…
I’m not excited or happy about it but I did so bad I expected it to be a 13 or 14 so I guess it’s not the end of the world.
