I'm currently applying as a transfer student. I've struggled with ADHD my entire school career, with high school being my highest average in my life, culminating in a 3.6, which got me rejected from most of the "elite" schools I applied to. My SAT was a 2260, which should have been no problem, so I'm sure my 3.6 was the culprit since everyone thought my essays were stellar, so were my recommendations. I was diagnosed just today, and last term's GPA was extremely high for whatever reason, possibly because the stuff I did was "up my alley" and I loved every minute of it. Today, I was diagnosed with both ADHD-Predominantly Inattentive and Generalized Anxiety Disorder. Because transfer students are still partially judged by their high school GPA (and in my case, a Sophomore transfer), I wonder if disclosing will help explain some of that?
