<p>I realized recently that I wrongfully interpreted the instructions given in the ethnicity box (ie. Please add more specific information where relevant (such as tribal affiliation or country of origin).</p>
<p>I put "Southeast Asian - Malaysian". I'm actually a Malaysian-born Chinese though.</p>
<p>I know this is a stupid mistake on my part. The burning question is: should I inform the admissions office to rectify this?</p>
<p>no point in updating, they’ve probably already used your ssn to track down your ethnicity, realized you misrepresented yourself and revoked your application</p>
<p>Don’t be a bunch of smartasses. It isn’t a big deal at all, but if it makes you sleep better at night, go ahead and give them a call and tell them about the mistake.</p>
<p>^in all honesty, i’d say don’t do that, you’ll just pss them off, because it’s inconsequential, in no uncertain terms: don’t pss them off, just go out and party like you’re supposed to.</p>
