Wow! I hope you get into Harvard. You'd be a good fit.

The Asian students I've met there (I'm a mom) are fun, friendly, intelligent, personable and interesting.

Project that and you'll be fine.

hey guys, just bumping this thread again. my first semester just ended and i finished with a 4.0 again, so i'm officially rank 1 (valedictorian). i'm also a national merit finalist, but that's not really a big deal. interviews with harvard, mit, and princeton went well. i got invited to regents at ucla and scholars day at ucsd, but i didn't get invited at berkeley while a bunch of my friends did (the essays i sent into ucs were pretty scrappy).

after the stanford deferral and the berkeley thing i'm kind of scared... i guess i don't feel very unique

anyone? chances? :/ sorry

***? Stanford deferred you? You've got excellent grades. You've got excellent activities. Better than that, you have a real personality (I can tell from your activities). This is indeed a weird college system, where colleges almost punish you for being a genius.

like everyone else, i am in shock that stanford deferred you. whatever, you'll get in to some top college. good luck!
