i was just wondering (this would be especially great if you are/were an alumni interviewer)</p>
<p>i was just curious...is it typically customary for alumni to say "you're amazing and i'm sure you'll face many tough decisions between multiple excellent universities in april".
is that what you always say out of courtesy? or is that something you only say if you truly think this person is that great, or you liked them that much?</p>
<p>just a curiosity thing. ive had some interviewers say that and others dont...so idk if that was their actual opinion, or some people do it out of politeness.</p>
<p>There’s no standard response. It was the spur of the moment. It’s a comment in a conversation. Enjoy it for affirmation but don’t draw too many conclusions from it. Avoid the straw grasping! LOL</p>
<p>yeah i know, i was just hoping that with their experience on seeing which one of their interviewees get accepted that their opinion would give a little bit of insight.

<p>I’m an alumni interviewer for a top 10 school… I say it sometimes to candidates who performed really well during the interview. Of course, that usually means I’ll write a great interview report for them, but that in no way guarantees admission. We rate candidates on a 1 to 5 scale (5 being the highest). I’ve had 50% of my “5” rating candidates get in and about 25% of my “4” rating candidates get in.</p>
