Just Wondering: How Many AP Classes does your school offer?

wow, now I feel as though I've been deprived.

Calc AB
Calc BC (starting next year)
Chem
US History
Government (started this year)
English
Bio
Possibly Music Theory but I forget

As a junior you can take Calc, Government, English, and Bio

thats good; im not going to a public school so thats why mine offers 32... my local public school has the most APs in the state of California, though, which is pretty cool except for people get shot there pretty often because of the magnet students

Human Geography
US History
Calculus AB
Biology
Chemistry
Physics B
US Government
European History
English Literature

That's nine.

I think my school is near the top for prep schools with 29. It gets to the point when there seem to be too many courses that I'm interested in taking.

My school...small public:

APs:

AP World History, AP US History, AP Calc AB, AB Chemistry, AP Physics C, AP Lit

for a total of 6..

Beat that.

Also: anything over like 15 or 20 is insane..

I'd have a terrible time deciding what to schedule :).

My school has 14 Ap courses. No one can take all of them. NO ONE. I am only going to take probably 3 by the end of high school.

My school has 10 or 11. I forgot the exact number. I'm planning on taking them all except AP Art and AP Spanish.

Mine offers about 20.However most can only do 13.

1 in Sophmore year, 6 in Junior, 6 in Senior. You however must take 7 classes per year. So you can never have a full AP schedule although 6 APs and 1 Honors is possible.

You however may possibly get in more if you are in the IB program which takes 2 math classes in freshman year and starts off with biology instead of environmental science.

Example:

Sophmore Year:

AP US History
AP Chemistry
AP Algebra Trig(Algebra 2)

6+6+3=15 max possible at our school.

AP Bio

AP Chem

AP Physics B

AP Physics C

AP German Language

AP French Language

AP Spanish Language

AP English Language

AP English Literature

AP Environmental Science

AP Comp Sci. A
12 .AP Comp Sci A/b

AP Statistics

AP Calc AB

AP Calc BC

AP World History

AP US History

AP US Government

AP European History

AP Art History

AP Music Theory

AP Studio Art

Not bad for a public school of 1000. Sophomores are allowed to take AP World, but I was able to take AP chem this year anyway ^_^ This year, we had a few sophomores take AP English Language too, but it won't be allowed next year.

thats really awesome- we have a strict AP policy at my school, though.

yeah APs at my school are just for juniors and seniors
we offer about 18 or so (i'm from a public school in alabama)

Large public (about 2100 or so students)

Chemistry

Physics C: Mech

Physics C: E&M

Psychology

Microeconomics

Macroeconomics

Human Geography

English Literature

English Language

Calc AB

Calc BC

Statistics

Psychology

US History

Computer Science AB

Studio Art

Music Theory

Art History

I also heard that they're considering the possibility of offering European History next year.

I never really realized how many APs many school has...too bad hardly anybody takes advantage of them.

what do you think is the most rare AP class taught at high schools?

btw, mine only offers
AP World Hist
AP Gov't
AP US History
AP Chem
AP Bio
AP Calc (ab)
AP Lit
AP Spanish = 8

EDIT: average scores on such tests: 1/2 (only 4 5s last year)

Calculus AB
Calculus BC
Statistics
English Literature
Biology
Chemistry
Physics
Ecology I/Ecology II (Enviromental Science in disguise)
Studio Art
Spanish Language
French Language
Latin
Italian
European History
American Government
Microeconomics
Macroeconomics
They got rid of German Language so about...
=17 total

I wish they expanded though. The language program is nice but US and World would be appreciated -- depending on your teacher, American Studies can help you prep for APUSH but it is not designated as an AP course. They were going to have AP Psychology next year (*** does it matter; I'll be gone!) but canceled it.

[/quote]

I think certain languages like Italian and German or even Latin could be the rarest. If you're really interested (and I sort of am too) you could see what courses had the fewest taking the exam and that might provide a small indication.

AP Music Theory
AP Biology
AP Calculus AB
AP English
AP Government
AP Statistics
AT Chem
AT Physics

The AT's are not real APs, but many students take the exams along with them...I will have taken all APs cept music theory and statistics (calculus instead).

We offer 8 - Lang, Lit, Calc, US History, World History, Gov, Econ, Chem.

my school offers 24 APs

Yep, lets hear it for my public HS of about 400 and our 6:

AP World 10th
AP US 11th
AP Chem 11th
AP Calc 11th or 12th depending on placement in middle school(it's dumb)
AP Physics B 12th
AP English Lit 12th

ummmm let me count

AP Calc AB/BC
AP Spanish
AP French
AP USH
AP Gov/Econ
AP Chem
AP Bio
AP Physics
AP English
AP Comp Sci

hmm 10 APs, I never knew that. More than I thought. Oh well.
