Kellogs Honors College

Who else got accepted to the Honors College? :)

When did you hear and how? I applied and have not heard anything.

I just received email this morning for the Honors College at Cal Poly.

What majors are you and what are your stats?

I got an e-mail this morning about my acceptance. I applied as a Biotech major.

I wonder if they’re still admitting people into the Honors College or does that mean the rest of us were rejected?

My son got admitted on 3/16 too!

I just received a rejection letter from the honors college. Very sad. So now wondering if maybe I should go to SLO instead since it is better ranked.

You were rejected from the honors college at Pomona but admitted at slo?

Yes I was admitted to SLO. I was also admitted to UCSD and UCSB but Cal Poly’s honors college doesn’t want me I guess.

that really makes no sense to me. maybe you were overqualified or something. because i was denied to all those schools yet accepted to the honors.

Well in the info for the honors college it says it is not for the highest SAT’s and GPA’s but for the people they would think would most benefit from it. Maybe they think that a white upper class boy with parents that are both engineers who also worked on a car for the Darpa Grand Challenge and builds and repairs computers as a side job does not need a push to make it through the engineering at Cal Poly.

This doesn’t really have anything to do with the Honors College but I just wanted to pop in here and ask this - so it is actually possible to be accepted to SLO AND Pomona? In another thread someone said being accepted to SLO could affect Pomona’s decision. When I applied to both a year ago I was accepted to SLO but denied by Pomona because I hadn’t met the prereq’s for the major (transfer student). I’ve applied for both again for Fall 2012 and I’ve been accepted to SLO but still waiting on Pomona. I see no reason for Pomona to deny me this time since I’ve completed all the prereq’s and I have a 3.9 GPA when the minimum is 3.2.

I don’t think acceptance into one Cal Poly will affect admission to the other. I was accepted to both SLO and Pomona.
