What are most kids like at State? I realize it's a large university so there's going to be some of everyone, but what are most people like? Jocks, hicks, preppy, etc...

You’re kidding, right?

There are over 36,000 undergraduate students at the university. There is, literally, every single type of person you can imagine. The only thing that could describe most of the students is “students”. Seriously. That’s it.

I agree with Romani. There are way too many students to say the “type” that go here. You will find the kind of people you want to find if you look for them.

Freshman at state. The people above me are right, there is way too many kids to fit a broad stereotype. There are a lot of stupid kids, and kids who probably should be somewhere else. There are those in greek life, and the majority who aren’t. There are people who rage wednesday through saturday, and those who are super Christian and don’t drink. Football/basketball games unite the student body, I guess the only stereotype is that everyone here loves state. Not to mention football saturdays, there’s a magical feeling on campus you won’t find somewhere else. MSU has had a reputation of being a huge party school. While true, one thing I have been surprised in terms of stereotypes is there seems to be a lot more kids than expected who don’t party at all. And oh yeah - THE ASIANS!! There is so many Asians this year you would think we were at UCLA.

You don’t need to be super Christian to not drink, and incidentally, Christians actually usually support drinking. I know the Campus Crusade there has nothing against it. The stories you could say about that group… Oh my.

There’s a lot of immature people at all colleges, expect immature people.
