If they factored in intangibles like History and national prestige, William & Mary would be #1.

biggyboy- U of Buffalo was listed as # 89 followed by other SUNY's as Purchase #96, Cortland # 97, and Oneonta #98.
For alot of families out there who are trying to meet their monthly financial obligations, saving for retirement, or have a few kids who want to go to college-- cost is sometimes the deciding factor.
That idea may sound crass to some, but it is a reality for alot of us!!

Marny, I could not have said it better myself. Hey, that is one of the many reasons that my son is at #18 for OOS, and #21 for instate.

I was surprised that Binghamton rated higher than SUNY Buffalo . I was amazed at how Buffalo has changed .......for the better . So many of our freinds' kids got into great graduate schools from UB . In comparison , they had lot less TAs teaching than Binghamton --and a lot more to do in the city for activities. Maybe it's the two campuses - miles apart ( one suburban , one city ) that makes it tougher to live on ???

thats what im saying...people tend to prefer buffalo b/c its more of a 'city' than bing. the general idea is you have fun at binghamton only if you're drunk.

UW-Madison is 25th. UW-LaCrosse is 33rd. Maybe if LaCrosse were free...

The most LaCrosse degrees granted are in Education, Biology, Psych, Marketing and Management in that order. Fine things to study but not indicative of academic excellence.

Surprised W&M isnt number one. Granted though UNC is very cheap

Awesome. As a Gator mom whose alma mater is UNC- you rock Kiplinger!
