Knox College : record-breaking number of apps for 2007

<p>Gosh, I'm so sorry to hear about the increase in good students being rejected.</p>

<p>Mini, I have more than my share of negativity and sarcasm, but you have me beat by an order of magnitude. And you are so consistent..</p>

<p>Sorry, but that remark wasn't meant sarcastically at all. I really DO think it is a shame when students who would otherwise be a great fit for a college or university are rejected because there isn't room, and then that is seen as a POSITIVE by parents, applicants, and USNWR.</p>

<p>Everyone seems concerned about the increasing numbers of applications. I am not sure I see the problem. There are way too many kids and parents who cannot see beyond the elite, name brand schools. There are a lot of other good choices. Maybe the low acceptance rates will be a good thing and force more attention on finding college choices that fit the individual. There are also a lot of other choices beyond a few colleges that have received attention as hidden gems or colleges that changes lives.</p>
