Can someone explain me what is the difference between these two (in the U.S. system)? Is it that LACs do not have Grad school? Is there a difference between same major degrees from LAC and college? Thanks

LACs are liberal arts colleges, they generally do not have grad schools and have a lot of focus on undergraduate education. Generally the degrees are the same (bachelors of arts), though most LACs do not have engineering programs or other specialized programs that some larger universities have, they instead focus on the "liberal arts" education in an array of subjects.

LACs are lot smaller and I've heard that they're more rigorous.

While everything stated here is a generalization, I strongly doubt that LACs are generally more rigorous than Universities. It depends largely on the individual school and there are sure to be plenty of examples for either one.

LACs are usually much much smaller (think 500-2000 rather than 5000-10000)

Some considerations:

LAC's focus on undergraduate education. The actual professors are primarily teachers but may also do research. You are not generally taught by graduate students.

Universities offer more options for course work. They also have graduate and professional schools which frequently give preference to their own undergraduates.

3.Much of the instruction at universities is done by graduate students. At some highly ranked universities, the purpose of the undergraduates is to allow graduate students to earn their advanced education by teaching.

Oh, thanks a lot for the info
