Lack of Community Service

I'm a junior and I'm thinking of applying to some of the top tier schools but I don't have that many Community Service Hours. I have some minor peer tutoring and thats basically it. Howver I do have work experience, I have a part time job now and I've had paid internships, one of which I can get a pretty good recommendation from.

If I start some community service now, is it too late? And can my work experience help in cancelling my lack of CS. Thinking of being an econ major btw

Schools that are looking for community service are looking for something meaningful that the student contributed to, not something the student started doing late in their high school career. That sort of looks as if you started doing it because you realized it would look good to have some community service on your resume, and many schools won't see that as a plus. They may see it as trying to game the system.

If you have had a regular job and internships that you have participated in consistently, that shows you are reliable and dependable and doing something meaningful with your time. It will probably mean more to most schools than adding in some short-time community service work at this point.

If you really want to do community service, you can get a lot of hours over the summer, but I'm not sure how much that would help for one year
