Lack of ECs in First two years

I’m writing on my older sister’s account so sorry if there’s any confusion.

My family and I have been moving around a lot and we’re finally settling down for my junior year.

Because we were moving around a lot, I never really had a chance to join many extracurriculars, but I kept my grades up and I am currently balancing a 4.56 Weighted GPA, which I’m pretty proud of.

I was wondering, if I start and join more ECs for junior and senior year, will elite universities and colleges care about the lack of ECs before?

I’ll probably join 3 or 4 clubs, maybe more if there are others that interest me, but so far about 3 or 4.

It’s been my dream since maybe grade 4 to go to the university where either my grandfather (Stanford) or my father (Cornell) attended.

Is it possible with 2 years with 3-5 ECs and good grades/test scores.

Thank you,

Martin

I think colleges want to see ECs because they want interesting students and involved students on campus. Don’t focus on what you don’t have, focus on the positives of your moves and write about that in your essays. For instance, maybe you I think in your essays you explored new cultures (Maine to L.A., for example, is a different culture) , learn about yourself, etc.

Sorry for my poor English. I can’t multitask! But you can see what I mean.
