Lack of Extracurriculars at my school due to Work-to-Rule strike. Will it affect me at top colleges?

There was a Work-to-Rule strike in my (Canadian) province for 3 months which banned all Extracurriculars at my school during that period. Then the teachers went on a full strike for 1 day, and then they were legislated back to work by law. But after they were sent back to work by law, even though Extracurriculars are not banned anymore, nearly every teacher stopped doing Extracurriculars (some did it as a sign of “protest”, some did it to have more time in their life). I don’t see in-school Extracurriculars starting back up during my time at high school. Keep in mind that I have Extracurriculars outside of school which can help me stand out, so it’s not like I have no Extracurriculars period.

I’m applying to top colleges in the US, and I see this happening judging from my first actual SAT subject test score (750/800). Will not having in-school Extracurriculars from now on affect me negatively, even though I have Extracurriculars outside of school? The school registrar is able to write a note to colleges saying how the Work-to-Rule protest affected Extracurriculars at my school.

Same answer as when you asked in December.
If there are no in-school activities (or none that make sense,) then what do you think the colleges expect you to join? You will present what you did do.

But I’d suggest you get a better read on what “top colleges” will look for.

Many students get into top colleges without significant in-school ECs. If you have genuine passions, it’s expected that you will pursue them regardless of whether or not your high school offers an official club for them.

Question has been asked and answered. ECs outside of the school have the same value as ECs done inside the school.

How will this affect you? Well, if in school you ask your teachers questions about something and then a little later ask the same question because you aren’t satisfied with the answer or just don’t trust it, the way you’re doing on this forum. you can expect this to be noted in your recs. Poor letters of recommendation are definitely going to hurt you.
