LACs...what's your opinion?

I am considering to apply to some of the LACs. What is your general opinion on LACs?

love them.

they sem to offer mroe personal attention adn smaller calsses than many of of the REally large universitys
(kinda duh, but kinda not)

LACs are not necessarily that much different than universities. They generally have smaller enrollments and don't usually offer engineering or have grad students or have TAs leading any lectures. I don't think the lack of grad schools at places like Williams, Wesleyan, Colgate, Middlebury really makes the undergrad experience much different than going to Dartmouth, Brown, Georgetown, Tufts. Distictions like size, location, social environment, people around you are bigger determinant factors of the experience to me.

Americans looking to expand their choice of historic, top-notch, truly undergraduate oriented colleges beyond the eight members of the Ivy League generally look at LACs.
