I'm confused about this part. So we're an american family so I obviously checked everything for English. But I'm currently taking AP Spanish so I'm like 1/2 fluent in Spanish. IS this considered proficient for speak read or write?

^^^ I have the same question! I think we should be able to mark proficient, but I’m not sure…:/

I would check with your teacher, that’s my school’s policy for that sort of thing. Ask your teacher if they think you should check of any of the bubbles, and if so which ones.At my school the AP language teachers usually tell maybe 5 people a language to check off even one bubble, I think German and Chinese (which we don’t have as APs) tell one, maybe two people a year, between the two languages, not each.

I think that if you’re in AP Spanish you are most likely proficient. Proficient doesn’t necessarily mean fluent but rather could understand most of what you hear, speak, and wrote.

^ This.

Not to mention colleges will simply be able to look at your schedule and learn that you took AP Spanish. I mean, it’s not lying or anything - but it’s definitely a stretch to say you’re fluent in most cases. Fluent means you are able to communicate effectively with very little (preferably none at all) pauses, breaks, or misunderstandings.
