Hi, I just bought a 15" Macbook Pro. I'm looking into getting some kind of case or cover. One choice is to get a "sleeve" type thing and keep it in a backpack. Because of the size and weight, I'm not sure how comfortable I will be keeping it in a backpack. Another choice is to get one of the larger laptop bags with handles and other compartments for other stuff. I'm not sure which to get, because I have no idea how often I'm going to be taking my laptop to class or anything like that. Is anyone willing to offer advise or share what has worked for them? Thank you!

I like this simple one

but theres just so many… we probably have different taste

The issue is weight vs. protection. A large case will have padding in case it is dropped. A sleeve will mainly avoid scratches, and may not even protect it from rain. I’ve heard of laptop screens being destroyed when they are in a backpack with heavy books.

The Neoprene sleeves are really nice and are recommened for Macbook Pro’s. I have one but don’t use it often since there is a padded section in the bookbag I use.

[Hardshell Case for 15" MacBook Pro (New) : Products By Incase](http://www.goincase.com/products/detail/hardshell-case-cl57237m)
Hardshell cases are very popular in my college. They come in a wide variety of colors and help protect the outer part of the laptop.

Thanks for the advice! I decided on a hardshell case as well as a neoprene sleeve that fits over the case. Maybe it’s overkill, but I’m prone to dropping things, so hopefully that’s one less thing to worry about.
