I had a Mac Mini several years ago, as a result of a (now ex) stepfather who was an IT/web design guru and had a love affair with Apple. It didn’t ever get viruses or give me any major problems, but then, I had constant tech support/the newest software courtesy of my stepfather, and this was when the Apple craze had barely begun (before the first iPhone came out).

I haven’t wanted a Mac since using that one. I game very frequently, and there are just so many things that aren’t available to Mac users in the video game world (a conversation I had with an unhappy gamer yesterday who uses a Mac). In addition, I really like being able to customize my system, right down to the last byte, and using a PC lets me do that more readily than a Mac would. I can understand why so many people gravitate toward them: they’re great for people who need a graphics-intensive system but aren’t planning on gaming, as well as those who either just don’t like PCs or who aren’t incredibly computer literate. But I couldn’t ever use one myself–I wouldn’t be able to run half of my programs on it!
