<p>I'm going to Gabelli School of Business in the Fall for a management undergraduate degree. I read in the Tech handbook that if I use a Mac, I will have a really hard time because Mac's Microsoft Office doesn't have Access. </p>
<p>Can current students comment on this? Should I buy a new computer with Windows or keep using Mac? What do I have to install in my Mac in order for the laptop to be compatible with the classes?</p>
<p>I am not in Gabelli but I know that a lot of people who are do have Macs. All of my friends in Gabelli have Macs and never have problems. There is pretty much an even split on campus between Macs and PCs, I havea PC. I gotta say that the wifi does work much better on Macs.</p>
<p>If you already have a Mac, just purchase parallels and use Windows that way.</p>
<p>You will need Windows for a few applications (Such as Access, which is Windows only). Using Windows on the Fordham WiFi is a pain as you’re forced to do a virus scan once a week when everyone has to sign into the WiFi again (Macs do not have to do the virus scan).</p>
