<p>I would recommend a Mac... but since you prefer a PC, I cannot make a viable suggestion in that regrad.</p>
<p>doesn't matter too much, in terms of brand. Make sure you can do the basics - write papers (microsoft word is really good to have, IMO, since everyone has it it's easy to share files), use e-mail/internet, have an ethernet cord. That's all you really need. </p>
<p>I have a compaq, my roommate has a dell. Whatever.</p>
