can somebody tell me pros and cons of macs and pcs? i don’t know which one to get

just a hint..if you post this in the College Life forum, you're likely to get a response from the laptop gurus there, i mean its only been 2 mins since you posted, but in case you don't get a result..i've never used macs, so I can't tell ya.

Windows all the way.

You are MUCH better off with a PC at Bates than you are with a Mac. Their infrastructure supports both, but people just have an easier time if they have a PC. Dell preferably, since they have a support contract with Dell.

"Dude, you're [NOT!] getting a Dell." Intel Celeron processors (which Dell uses) are horrible. IM me and I'll help you find a good computer.

Buy a Latitude, not an Inspiron. They're issued to staff. No Celerons - eeewwwww. I just bought a Latitude with a better-than-Celeron processor, 1 Gb RAM, graphics so my son can play his games, for about $1400.

Get an HP. It's reliable, not bad of a price, and has great multimedia support.

thanks everyone for all the advice ^^
