If there are any current students or alumni, I’d like to ask … If the classes are so big (lecture hall type) Do you actually have hands on experience? My son will be a neuroscience major and would want to be inside the labs doing research. Can anyone shed any light on that topic?
There are some giant lecture hall classes. These are usually for lower level classes like intro to psychology or whatever. There tend to be smaller discussion sections too for many of these large classes as well as lab sections. Higher level classes tend to be smaller and there are research opportunities. I understand the concern about large classes since smaller classes and professor interaction are valuable to many students. But most larger school tend to follow this model. If you want really small classes you would need a small school or a CC.
