I know there is a forum set up for this, but I just read through 72 pages of it and saw my two questions asked many times and ignored each time (I'm sorry if it was answered after page 72, but I gave up reading it, and searching the thread didn't help either). Here are the questions:

1)If a club's hours vary greatly, such as for me in Mock Trial where first semester we have two one hour practices a week and then second semester we do around 10-12 hours a week, how should I put them in the Common App? Should I just take the average of the hours and include a resume, or put the maximum and hope they don't think I'm lying when they see my resume says that I only put in that much time for half of the year?

2)If a club is something you enjoy and are an officer in, but only meets once a week or every other week for an hour to discuss (except for the occasional event), will it look worse to put it than to have a blank for your last spot on the Activities section?

Sorry again if this has been answered, but many people seem to want to know this, including me,

1) Average it. At least, that’s what I did.
2) I had a club like that and put it down, so I would definitely recommend filling in the last slot, especially if you had a leadership role.

1) I think you should average it and put down the detail in a resume (note however that some schools dread resumes e.g. Stanford)
2) You could put it down on Common App, but it will make more sense to the adcom if you have talked about your passion on this activity in one of your essays/short statements.
Bear in mind that whatever you do, you want to show them a coherent picture of you. Focus on a few highlights and if the school allows additional documents (like Williams College), do send in a sheet to explain your special situation.

I think in some other threads when people got that message it meant that their pop-up blocker was on. Try logging out and making sure your pop-up blocker is off and then log on again. If that doesn’t work, contact Common App asap so that they can resolve your problem.
