Last minute deciding major dillema, stressing out, help please?

I am a senior (As for my stats, I have a 32 ACT, 33 superscored (35E 36M 27R 32S 35W), 3.78UW/4.34W GPA, a LOT of comm. service EC’s (but none pertaining to business, a lot revolving around church, and one hospital internship, good essay, asian, male, massachusetts)

I’m applying soon and basically I’ve always been indecisive of what I wanted to major in, and narrowed it down to

-Engineering (due to my strengths in math)
-Finance (I don’t know much about studying the field since I never took any Finance classes, it just interests me).
-Physician Assistant (what major would suit here?)

I’m confused as to what major I should choose for Boston College. I would have to apply to CSOM in order to major in Finance, which is much more selective than other colleges, so I would probably not make it. However, I could study Economics in Morrisey (CAS), which I have no background in, or a medical major pertaining to PA, which would increase the chances of me getting in… what should I do?

I also don’t know what major to choose at UCONN, which of the three has the best program there?

Syracuse : finance
Brandeis: economics
Umass amherst: engineering

BC: undecided??
Uconn: undecided??

I know I should’ve decided all of this a while ago, forgive me.

You’re applying soon? As in, the next few hours??

So many kids change their majors while they’re in college. This doesn’t have to be a binding decision. No reason for stress (well, other than the need to actually get those apps out.) Give it your best guess and hit “submit.”

Your major is nonbinding until your sophomore year and you really are stressing over nothing. Relax a little and get the app in.

Yes, I literally have everything done, except for choosing my major. I’m just worried about Boston College. I’m second guessing myself about my major selection. Choosing finance would put me at a disadvantage in terms of getting in, since BC’s Caroll School of Management is much more selective than its College of Arts and Sciences. If I wanted to apply to that college instead, I would need to choose economics or a medical-related major.

I am just afraid of feeling regretful if I apply to BC’s business school and get rejected, and could’ve had a better chance if I applied to the CAS school.

Don’t choose a major! You don’t have to, so don’t. Surely you are able to indicate your areas of interest, and you can put porbably three of them on the app.

@Lindagaf I can. But for BC, I have to choose one.

If you are still undecided in April:

  1. Pick a college that has all of your possible majors, and where you can switch to them easily (i.e. you do not need a high college GPA or face a competitive admission process to get into the major).
  2. Choose your first few semesters' of college courses carefully to make progress in the course plans for all of your possible majors, so that you will not be behind in any one should you choose it.

However, I’m still hung up on BC. What do you suggest I should do?

Looks like at BC, you do not exactly major in finance. You can major in business and do concentrations within that major; one of the possible concentrations is finance.

You may want to ask BC if choosing a major or undeclared/undecided matters for admission, and whether there are any secondary admission processes or GPA requirements to enter any of your desired majors.

It looks like BC does not have any engineering.
