BTW, New Englanders out there: Do you know whether BU still has their evening Master’s program in Public Relations? (I seriously considered going that route once upon a time.) If so, then maybe 23simone23 could consider something like this: UNH for undergraduate, then BU for Master’s, either in the evening program (so she could work to pay for it during the day) or in the daytime program.

BU has VERY strong programs in communications / public relations, so I can see why one would want to go there if one is interested in that area. But BU is soooo expensive…it might make more sense, money-wise, to go the state-school route first and then go to BU. A Master’s from BU in journalism or public relations would open doors for sure!

OP, don’t look down on Simmons College. It has an excellent reputation & you may be offered some merit aid. Many young women from our public school district have graduated from Simmons & have gone on to very successful careers. For some of them, it wasn’t their first choice either, but they were very happy with their outcomes!

Free admission to Museum of Fine Arts & reduced Red Sox tickets are a couple of perks.

Oh my gosh, nyquist – just read the Globe piece re Emmanuel. Absolutely fascinating. I had no idea. Thank you!!

I’m originally from Boston (born and bred), but we’ve lived out of state for about 27 years, and I am totally out of the loop. Thanks so much for this update!
