Not to be forgotten…another OAC member close to Wooster. Mount Union now, offers graduate degrees and is now the University Of…instead of Mount Union College. Very strong in business, sciences, education and a small school with a beautiful campus and a strong dedication to developing socially engaged students (i.e. service minded, environmentally aware, etc) Yes, I am an alum :)

I’d second Wooster, and suggest Wittenberg too, if son is a B/B+ student.

I have visited all the OP’s Ohio colleges over the last three years with my 3 stair step kids. Last summer my youngest and I did part of Six College Tour. Of the three smaller colleges IMO Wooster is first, then Denison, then OWL. We talked to a number of students. Our tour guide at Wooster picked it over Denison, where her stepmother taught, partly on her advice, and partly because she felt it was less cliquey than Denison. She felt Denison was a lot like high school in that regard. I had the same impression, that you were accepted for who you are at Wooster rather than trying to conform at Denison. Also the city of Wooster, although small, stands on its own; it is not a college town as are Grandville and Oxford. It has manufacturing and businesses beyond the college. I have dined at several great restaurants in Wooster.

I did like Denison as I felt my daughter would thrive there academically. Granville is cute but very small. The students must live on campus and by the time students are 21, 22 I think they need to learn how to live independently if they wish. If your son is serious about Denison you need to investigate the drinking issues:

OWL was not a contender for us. I have the impression they are trying hard and maybe it is the finances as someone noted. Delaware is exactly as described above, a waystation to Columbus, not interesting on its own.

That’s my two cents. That said, all three of my kids will be at Ohio State this fall!!
