I keep getting nervous everytime i get on here, and i know this will do the same... but i have to know. thanks everyone

The first generation thing will help a lot, especially if you are low-income or have overcome significant obstacles. Your ECs are great (are you being recruited for football), but your grades and SATs are slightly below average. If your essays were good, I'd say you have about a 50% chance. Good luck!

Your application reminds me a lot of mine (minus the first generation college student) which worries me because I didn't meet the greatest fate the first time (worked out well the second time, however). Keep the faith but it is going to be close! I definately am thinking for you and praying for you. You really do remind me a lot of myself when I applied and I know you really want to come to ND so hopefully that will show through. Good luck, I am definately keeping my fingers crossed. Let me know no matter what happens!

I've been on CC since my sophomore year of high school, looking at the stats of people that apply to Notre Dame. I know that mine aren't up to par with everyone else, but i hope Notre Dame gives me the chance... My essay is pretty good in my opinion and my counselor reccomendation is excelent (my counselor was also my teacher for 4 symesters), and my teacher rec. is just a lil under the weather. oh well, we will see what happens.

P.S. Irish, if i get rejected im gona be talking to you alot about what i should do so that i can transfer in after my first year. One rejection is not going to ruin my dream.

I am glad to hear that no matter what you are not going to give up! However, it is definately too early to throw in the towel now; you never know what admissions is looking for and they do stress the essays! Good luck! If it doesn't work out you know where to find me, but I will have my fingers crossed!

I applied R.D. too and my scores etc. are just like yours. I got a 30, I was really invloved in school, I have a good teacher rec. and a pretty good essay. I know it's so stressful waiting to see if you got in, especially since we are so borderline. Good luck and God bless, lets hope for the best!
p.s. in we both don't get in at least we will have someone else to talk to about transfering!!

haha, yeah. Well i will be on SB when im "scheduled" to get my letter of acceptance [im thinking positive ;-)] but i dont know if i want my parents to open it and tell me the answer by phone or not.... just that makes me nervous.

haha thats a tough one. You should have them call you if its a big envelope and not call you if its a tiny one, so either way you will have an awesome SB.

That is safe most of the time but not always. I actually was at work when my transfer admissions letter from BC came so I had my Mom open it for me. It was a small envelope, so I flipped at first, but it ended up being an acceptance. You just never know with some of these schools, some just love giving you heart failure!

Notre Dame acceptances come in big envelopes- at least mine did for EA. Anyway, I remember a couple summers ago I was expecting my AP scores while I was out of the country. I remember how stressful that was, especially since my mom told me beforehand she would open the letter but wouldn't tell me my score, so it wouldn't wreck my trip if it was bad; however, she changed her mind and told me when she saw that it was a 5. I hope you have the same luck, hoopster!
