Late arrival or AP statistics - when I want to major in it?

  1. X
  2. Speech (required)
  3. AP Macro
  4. AP Calc BC
  5. AP Physics 1
  6. AP English Lit
  7. Internship PreAP

That’s my schedule right now. Either I can throw in X as Ap statistics, when i do want to major in it, or Late arrival. Thing is, I’ve already done a lot of statistics work through my research, and my intership this year will revolve around statistical applications. I just don’t think I can do the class, because those 4 other APs are extremely tough, and I’m going to be busy with my extracurriculars as well. Is the mental stress and pain worth it for Ap stats?

The calc BC is good enough. In college you can then take calc- based stats, which is more important for a stats major.

Quality is better than quantity. If it will make your grades suffer don’t do it.

AP statistics in high school may be helpful to some students to determine their interest in statistics, but it looks like your extracurriculars have already told you that. It is unlikely to be useful for advanced placement as a statistics major, since statistics courses for statistics majors have math prerequisites like calculus, multivariable calculus, and/or linear algebra.

Is there a foreign language class that you can fill in?

I finished 4 years of spanish

AP statistics is unlike anything required for a Statistics major. Tie the Late arrival.
