Are there any "good" schools that have deadlines around 2/15 or later? I've already submitted a bunch of apps but I'm getting extremely paranoid that I'll get rejected everywhere. I'm not super picky, but I'd like a school that is not in the South or too far west (I live in Va) and that has a decent academic atmosphere.
Some stats:
SAT 2250 (740CR 710M 800W)
4.17 W 3.98 UW GPA
Decent ECs & Recs

Use the search tool on the common app website to find schools with late admissions deadlines.

In May, there’s always a list of schools that still have openings. Generally there are a couple of decent names on there - pending what major, etc, you want. Getting $$ at that stage can be tricky.

You can also try rolling admission schools. Some may still have openings for an attractive student (which you should be). Not all of these use the Common App. Besides location, what are you looking for in a school?

I’m not really that picky. A few deal breakers would be a really skewed gender ratio, lacking academics and few ECs, little to no diversity… I would consider anything else, but academic reputation is a HUGE factor. These are the schools I applied to:
UChicago, Dartmouth, Amherst, Wesleyan, Cornell, Bryn Mawr, Oberlin, VTech, William and Mary, Drexel, Hofstra
Do you guys know of any good schools with late/rolling admissions? For the record, my parents income is REALLY low so I’d need a school that gives lots of aid (or where I can get substantial merit scholarships.)

With stats like that, you really just need to step away from the Common App, take a cleansing breath and try to enjoy your last year of high school. You’re gonna get into Drexel, Hofstra and V-Tech…and probably quite a few more. Relax.

You need to apply quickly. Most schools give out financial aid and merit money on a first come, first served basis. You would probably have a better chance of getting need based aid at this point than merit.

I applied to UChicago, Dartmouth, Drexel, Hofstra, William and Mary, and others as well this fall with a 2270 and a decent GPA, recs, and EC’s too. I completely get what you’re feeling, I’ve been scared about getting in and affording tuition to boot recently. The application process is scary, you never feel like there’s any certainty to anything nowadays, and this forum never helps.
What I wanted to say is that other people are in your same shoes right now, and that JoBenny is right. Drexel, Hofstra, and Virginia Tech will all likely accept you with significant aid (and if they don’t accept you then we’ll both be reevaluating life come April ). There’s only a month and a half wait to hear back from the most prestigious of our schools, which seems like eons now, but will go by SO quickly (I feel like senior year has flown by, but app decisions certainly haven’t yet!). I have so many friends that have heard back from their dream schools and been accepted with either full scholarships or guaranteed aid, and that’s great (I’ve been so lucky I’ve been able to celebrate all these things with my friends! UPenn and Northeastern are awesome schools!), but it makes me feel as though I’m behind the curve a bit. But I swear to you, we really aren’t. Don’t apply to more schools in a nervous fit (I’ve done this for a school or two [Temple and Drexel cough cough], and now I feel silly). Come April, you and I will have a lot of GREAT options - you and I will just have to wait. Don’t feel stupid for worrying, it happens to everyone in your shoes, but don’t let it make you read this forum and want to die inside for not applying to that one school you contemplated and then shot down! I’m late to this thread, but I wanted to let you know you have someone else in the same spot. In fact, there’s probably a lot of people in our little spot. We’re both incredibly lucky just to be applying to these schools - there’s so many people who aren’t as lucky (I hate this bs but it’s reality - it doesn’t help, but it gives perspective). Best of luck!
To be nice and actually respond to this thread, here’s this link:

I don’t know what you’re applying for (I’m going to guess you want more liberal arts majors), but this list helped me fish out Hofstra as an option, which you’ve obviously already done :)

Why don’t you just apply to whatever is the best rolling admission state school in your state, just as a fallback if you don’t get enough financial aid from those schools? I agree that your stats are good (though how are your weighted and unweighted so close together – did you take NO APs? How are you weighting it?) and you should get in, but the scholarships are the tricky part, as those are competitive schools.
