Sorry if this has been posted before. But I was wondering: Are the late AP Exams (on May 22 for me) harder than the regular dated AP exams?

Would the curve be worse since generally smarter people will be taking the make up exam because they are the ones with too many exams that they have to take the make-ups.

If the tests are harder, wouldn't the curve be more lenient because ETC repeat questions so that no one can complain that they got a lower score because of a "harder" test.

Yah I was wondering that also. It would be hard to make a curve with not that many people taking the make-ups and you wouldn't be able to use the original test because the essay questions could be harder/easier.

well wouldn't you only get curved with the ppl who took it, and i'm assuming most of them would be like the smart obsessive kids with 10 aps who just couldn't fit them all into two weeks....so maybe that's why it's harder?

btw, i really hope this is just a myth. i have ap bio on friday and i'm sooo NOT ready yet...

My school is the 4th biggest testing site in the world for APs (basically we're an AP factory... its terrible), and teachers always claim that the make up is harder than the real one. I've heard this from some who probably have no idea what they are talking about, and others who have helped create the AP tests (Econ and Chinese).

I think its harder...When I took the practice test at school....I was a few points off from a 5 (without studying)....therefore, I was like....if I study really hard, I should get a five.....when I did late testing (for APUSH) it was outrageously hard...i skip 20 question cuz I ran out of time...I end up getting a 4

It's harder definitely. I know a kid last who had a fever and was taking AP Chem. Even with the fever he felt he could get a 5 easy, but then he fainted and had to take the makeup. He said the makeup test was so hard he would be lucky if he'd gotten a 4.

My Comp Sci AB test's free response questions seemed to be harder than the past ones(MUCH harder: I actually practiced using them), but I think the graders at ETS are smart enough to recognize "score differences" between different testing populations and adjust the curve accordingly. They're are the ones who HOST the statistics AP test; I'm sure someone there knows about statistics. :P The multiple choice test seemed quite surmountable, but I wouldn't know how much my Barron's AP training might skew my perception about the difficulty of MC questions.

The only reason I took the late AP test is because my school messed up with the ordering information, and accidentally ordered A instead of AB.

Today I took AP Calc AB, and on all the practice tests I took (which were like 5 of them, which we did in class) I easily got a 5. Today I was shocked, and hope I get a 4... Make up tests suck...

i heard calculus is always harder for form b and looking at past exams it seems that it always happens to be, but the exam i took today was easier to me than the 1st exam
