What if a political science major decides later in sophomore year to join pre-Med track? No previous medicine or even science related activity. Some science AP Credits but no science classes in college yet. Would it be too late?
No, it’s not too late. You need to get input from premed advisors at your college. Some people decide very late and end up in post bac program for med school requirements. Not easy, but not too late.
To finish undergrad in four years and be admitted to med school straight away? That seems very difficult.
Absolutely doable. As previous poster said, you have plenty of time to makeup those science classes, there is no rush, just that you will most likely to apply after you graduated from college.
The more important question to yourself is why medicine. If you have no science background, how do you succeed? How much do you know about being a physician? Have you shadowed some and still want to go for a physician’s life? Have you read some science books and think you can handle it?
Hell, I want to be the President of United States as well, but am I capable? These are the questions you should ask yourself and for a non-science major.
