Well, other countries have their own thread, it is now time for Latin Americans. There are 32 Latin Americans according to the "where is everyone from ?" thread, but the only other I know is DanielCarp. So introduce yourself, where are you from, what class, anything else ?

I'm from El Salvador
Class 2012
I have thus far applied to twelve colleges, out of my 14. Yeah it's a lot.
I am a Taurus

Hey~!
I'm from Argentina, either class of 2012 or future slacker, in the probable case I get rejected by all colleges. Meh, I can sense some major depression heading to Buenos Aires on march/april.
I've applied to 4/7 so far, I'm aquarius, and I just finished watching an awesome movie. Yay!

This thread is a good idea danhernan. I haven't seen many Latin Americans either.

I've applied to 9/15 already.

I was thinking ... a generalization about Latin Americans is that we like soccer. In my case, I played soccer in high school and of course still do. However, I'm not really a "fan" of any soccer clubs or national teams that are not Honduran. Why should I be a Real Madrid fan, for example? Or why would I have celebrated Italy's World Cup? Anyway, many people do feel recognized with European teams and countries, a thing I don't fully understand.

After Honduras, though, I like Argentinian soccer, particularly River Plate. I don't "enjoy" Brazil's or Boca's championships, simply because they are, at least in my country, everyone's favorite.

Of course my only real "passion" has to do with my own country.

I used to play soccer and I play occasionally with my friends. I am not passionate about any teams though. When people ask me are you Real or Barca, I always answer Mallorca. They always have a blank stare.
Are you a Motagua fan ?

Enim depending on your stats you could apply to the University of New Orleans and could get a full ride. The scholarships there are first come first serve and the deadline is January 15th.

By the way Enim, a friend of my is thinking of going to the Universidad de Palermo in Buenos Aires. Is that school good, or what is it known for ?

Hey, thanks for the tip but my parents don't want me studying in New Orleans, go figure. Stats are sucky anyway so meh.

UP (or Universidad de Palermo) is where my brother goes. It's excellent in all things related to publicity and advertisement, but it doesn't have a good reputation for anything outside that scope. Still, people here have a 'thing' against private universities so I wouldn't trust them too much. You learn a lot as long as you are willing to be taught!
