The Cambridge location I’ve heard is located at Harvard, but it still might be at MIT, they just call it Cambridge bc u don’t stay at the university dorm at MIT, u commute there. I’m pretty sure launch is still advertised on MIT’s summer program website.
You have access to a lot of the universities resources and teacher's and professors (correct me if I’m wrong) but LaunchX isn’t directly affiliated with them, they’re their own company, however, they’re being hosted at these locations. That being said, Launch still has a very prestigious and established name within the summer program world, it’s ranked one of the top 10 summer programs I think I read somewhere and a top 5 business based one.
Launch is about hands on experience and launching your own company, if not then learning how to launch one, very few Programs actually give you the funds to do that. The other programs like the ones hosted by Penn and stuff are all education based, however, since its hosted by those schools it does increase your chance of getting in because they see you’ve shown results through there system. Ideally for any school doing a summer program there and getting an internship with like a professor or someone that could write you a recommendation would be amazing. However if your company at Launch is wildly successful that’s as strong, if not stronger than doing an internship and a program at a school. One of my friends who did launch freshman year never did a penn program, never did any program besides ones hosted by MIT, and he got into Wharton because his company was extremely successful. If your a junior right now I’d go for a pen program because your only going to have a few months to grow your company before you have to submit stats for college, however, if ur a sophomore or freshman, you should go for launch because u have a long time to grow ur company and show results. Anyway , your main focus at launch too should be to make an impactful company not focus on college apps lol.
OK AFTER ALL THAT CAN SOMEONE IN UMICH SESSION 2 PLEASE PM ME I KNOW NO ONE ELSE IN MY SESSION. THANK YOU
Does anybody know what the age demographic is like at LaunchX? I’m assuming that there are less seniors compared to juniors, sophomores, and freshmen. Anybody know the specifics?
@billywill18 I’m pretty sure they don’t take anyone that’s a current senior, the only people they take are current freshman, sophomores, and juniors, and its an even mix of sophomores and juniors, but very few current freshmen. My interviewer told me they accept like 1-5 current freshman usually
hey guys, i can see in my application portal that the launchX team viewed my application about 6 days ago and that they then closed it. I have not received an interview request yet. Does anyone know how many days were between them viewing your application for the last time and sending you an interview request. I sent in my application the last day of regular decision, so I know that I will be one of the last people they contact. Does anyone have any insight for me? Was anyone rejected without getting an interview? My anxiety is through the roof. Also, congrats to all who were accepted!
Hey guys how many days after the interview did you guys receive the acceptance letter? Its been nearly a week since my interview and I’m kinda nervous, though I did receive the letter to state my preferred location after the interview.
Hi! @TheKops ! Well, in my case, they took more than half a month to declare the results.
So, I think you shouldn’t be nervous. They do take time. And they will inform anyway.
Just got into UPenn location! If anyone wants to connect I can share my instagram or discord.
Also, I hope my acceptance wasn’t a fluke. I didn’t see a letter when I logged into my portal or anything (as others have previously mentioned) but I got a email saying I was accepted.
@elyes2002 they started offering financial aid. they decided to return the aid for the international students by the regular deadline. so you should mail them asking for it. good luck!
