LaunchX Summer 2020

It seems Launchx still hasn’t decided dates for each session/location yet. Does anyone know roughly what their schedule is based on past experiences?

First off, congratulations to everyone who was admitted! LaunchX was a fantastic experience for me, and I hope that it will be for you as well. It was easily the best summer program I ever attended.

I contacted LaunchX and they said that decisions are now released on a rolling basis, but everyone should get their decision no later than February 15th.

@95042062qww @szhang5040 Check your inbox and see if you got an email from LaunchX. It should give you your location there. It just doesn’t show in the portal.

Northwestern anyone?! it’s so sad that I must cancel YYGS PLE 1 to attend this one…

btw @helpmetocollege if u want to connect over insta since we’re in the same session you can pm me

My son just got accepted to LaunchX Michigan Session 2. Are we able to change the location and or dates? Has anyone been able to actually speak to someone in admissions? Seems like poor customer service for such an expensive program

@vabchmom i contacted them in an attempt to change sessions b/c i had a couple potential nat’l competitions after s1 of umich started - i was informed that all location/date assignments are final. i spoke to someone directly in admissions about this.

Thank you - I received a response via email saying he had to reapply to change the date. He will keep his slot and go 2nd session. Excited for this opportunity even though he will have to pass up other programs due to the date conflict.

umich session2 anyone!!? super excited

@vabchmom To get in contact with the LaunchX headquarters, send an email to info@launchx.com. As far as I know, people are unable to change the date of their session once they are admitted. This is because of some issues in the past over some students wanting to try and get a different location, but the education will be the same regardless of the session! Any major scheduling conflicts should be marked on the application, where you can put the dates that you are available to attend the program.

finally got an interview!!! i’m so excited, how did you guys prepare?

also is anyone willing to say what type of questions were asked LOL

U will be fine!!

@Chaaaai i’m assuming you had your interview already? how long was it, and did they ask you specific questions about your stats/extracurriculars or general questions like “what’s your biggest weakness” etc?

if anyone could jump in with a reply that would be great

it honestly depends on who’s your interviewer

@notaloner don’t stress! honestly if you’re just really passionate about your ecs/entrepreneurship and polite you can’t go wrong. it wouldn’t be an interview if at least a couple of questions didn’t catch you by surprise - just be yourself and choose an interviewer you think you can relate to and you’ll do great!! interviews are just meant to add a human dimension to your 2D application

@ktaysr thank you!! i was thinking the same, i feel like the interview is just to make sure the applicant isn’t a psychopath. if you get an interview you’re like 90% of the way there right?

@notaloner yes, honestly just think of it as a way for app reviewers to gauge your passion abt launchx/your desire to make an impact

@notaloner you will do amazing in the interview, just have fun, like literally. Stay calm and the answers will flow out of you naturally! I know it sounds extremely cliche but after I did my interview, I realized the truth of it.

For future applicants in case ur researching launchx using this thread: I heard (not know for sure) that interviews have weight but not that much weight. Meaning even if you get one, it’s definitely not guaranteed you will get a spot. So stay humble and you will do well in the interview.

oh- its not guaranteed even if i do well on the interview? well now im a bit nervous HAHAHAH
